The Magic of Lamorna Cove
Kemyel Wartha on the cliffs above Lamorna Cove is an area of outstanding natural beauty - a ramblers and nature lover’s paradise! From Burnt Toast Cottage there is a choice of lovely scenic walks.
If
you follow the footpath to the front of the property, there is a beautiful wooded
walk down to Lamorna Cove. With rare wild flowers, foliage and orchids, on the
way down to the Cove there are a couple of view points where you can stand on
the massive granite boulders – a relic of the granite quarrying from
times gone by, and absorb the superb coastal views. The walk takes about 10 minutes
and in the Cove you can visit the Tea Rooms, Gift Shop and harbour. You can also
take the coastal path Eastwards to Mousehole and beyond or towards Lands End
to the West.
Lamorna Wink Historic Inn
Another very pleasant walk is to head head West across the field to the other footpath leading to the famous 'Lamorna Wink' pub. The pub is about 10 minutes away and there are some beautiful views of Lamorna and the sea on the way.
The Minack Theatre
The Minack Open-air Theatre is constructed above a gully with a rocky granite outcrop jutting into the sea. The theatre is located near Porthcurno, just 5 miles along the coast towards Land's End
Mousehole Historic Fishing Village
The historic fishing village of Moushole is only a short walk away Easterly across the fields you will meet the Coastal path leading to the village about one mile away.
Newlyn Fishing Port
Newlyn is the main Fishing Port in Sothwest Cornwall and is on the coast about 3 miles to the East just before Penzance. Newlyn also has several interesting Art Galleries.
St Michael's Mount
This 15th century island Castle dominates the coastline around Penzance and the Eastern approaches. Access is across a tidal causeway, but there is a boat service during periods of high tide.
