Burnt Toast Holiday Cottage
Burnt Toast Cottage is fully modernised and centrally heated and comprises; three bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen/diner, lounge and downstairs shower/cloakroom. There are panoramic sea views from the garden, and the cottage has been cleverly designed such that every principal room has a view of the sea– even the bathroom!
The Lounge
Across the hall is the lounge. This is a very attractive and cosy room with a chandelier, wood-burner, feature fireplace, beamed ceiling and sea views to the South. There is a comfortable two and three seat sofa with poufee, a coffee table and two matching side tables with lamps. The television is the latest Sony LCD flat screen with Freeview channels and a DVD player, along with a selection of DVD’s and books.
The Kitchen Diner
Downstairs, we have a substantial kitchen/dining room with panoramic sea views to the South. In the dining section there is a solid pine table with 6 chairs. The room has interesting alcoves and is divided from the kitchen with a reclaimed pine beam in the ceiling.
The kitchen is fully fitted with built-in oven, hob, fridge and a butler sink. The kitchen has solid wooden work tops and is equipped with a microwave, fridge freezer, kettle and just about every modern convenience to make this a real “home from home” experience.
The Bathroom
In the bathroom, from the window to the East elevation, you can see Lizard Point across the sea. There is a reclaimed pedestal basin and toilet and roll-top clawed footed bath with a mixer shower attachment on the taps. Whilst relaxing in the bath if you look upwards you can see the stars at night through the velux window in the ceiling! At the rear of the property off the hall is a shower room with a WC and hand basin.
The Bedrooms
The master bedroom has a “bedknobs and broomsticks” style king size bed, a pine wardrobe, dressing table with mirror and bedside cupboards. This room has a dual aspect, with panoramic sea views to the South and East towards Lizard Point and to the South and West to Lamorna Cove and Lands End beyond.
Bedroom two faces South, and again enjoys amazing panoramic views of the sea. This room has a double bed with brass bedknobs, a double wardrobe, dressing table with mirror and two bedside cabinets.
Our third bedroom is a single south facing room with more sea views. This room has a pine wardrobe and bedside table.
Parking and the Grounds
There is a generous graveled area which provides adequate parking for about 6 cars. A pretty lawned garden surrounds the property on the sides and to the front, which is neatly encased by a traditional Cornish stone hedge.
